The short version. Characters you build from the built-in parts and export — as a PNG or a sprite sheet — are yours to use however you like, including in commercial projects, with no attribution required. What you may not do is redistribute the raw part files themselves.
Every default part supplied by UnitForge is an original asset produced for this service. Characters you compose from those parts and export as a PNG or sprite sheet are free to use, including commercially, and no credit or attribution is required. This covers use in games, prototypes, mockups, videos and printed material alike.
The one limit is on the source assets rather than your output: redistributing or reselling the raw built-in part files themselves — as an asset pack, a tileset, or any comparable bundle — is not permitted.
You may draw your own parts in the editor or upload your own images. Those remain entirely your own responsibility, and you must hold the rights to them.
Creating or using custom parts that infringe someone else's work — game characters, trademarks, assets taken from other games — is prohibited.
Custom parts are stored only in your browser and are never uploaded, made public, or shown to other users.
Copyright in the sprites you compose, generate and export with this service, along with any legal responsibility arising from how you use them, rests entirely with you. The same applies to any custom parts you upload.
The service is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. It may change, break, or become unavailable without notice, and no liability is accepted for loss of data or for any consequence of using exported material. Keep your own copies of anything you care about.
There is nothing to sign up for. Custom parts are held in your own browser, and Export backup writes them to a file on your own device. Nothing you make is uploaded, so nothing you make can be taken down, moderated, or lost with the service. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail.
